Tales of Reval - Free Walking Tour

Discovery | People

How many times have you attended a guided tour? And how much of what the guides told you can you actually remember?

It might turn out that we seldom go back home with something new or funny to tell our friends and relatives.

But what if we actually remembered something about them? What if guided tours turned into a real experience?

Well, we present you Tales of Reval - a new, mind-blowing way to experience Tallinn.  What makes them special is that they combine traditional guiding with street performance and storytelling, thus creating a truly immersive experience. The guides will not fill your heads with names and numbers: instead they want to make you happy and proud of discovering Tallinn - the pearl of the Baltic Sea!

Among their walking tours, incentive tours, and tailor made experiences, their free walking tour can be your first step to know Tales of Reval. After the walk, we promise you will remember every single anecdote even after you go back to your home country.

It takes place every day from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., starting from the Tourist Information Center of Tallinn, located right in the City Center. 90 minutes and 1.2 kilometres of anecdotes and legends will let you travel through time crossing 800 years starting from 1219 A.D. In the name of the Town hall, you will be taken through the narrow streets and tall towers of Reval by Wilhelm Weltwanderer – traveller of the world and a local shopkeeper at the old market square.

Tales of Reval is more than a guided tour: it’s almost a theatrical performance where actors will actually look to you as if they just popped out of history. And there is more to that: they let the public interact and feel part of their stories. So...are you ready for time travel?

Hello, traveler! My name is Cedric - I'm a local street performer and a tour guide in the old town of Tallinn. I'm one of the founders of Tales of Reval - an immersive theater project, which combines traditional guiding with storytelling, and street performance to celebrate the beautiful capital of Estonia. As a storyteller I love the spark of wonder in the eyes of my guests when we walk around in our medieval town, discovering the vision and the wisdom of the Hansa Merchants. I relish the moments when the audience, with just a little push, starts playing along with our stories, having genuine fun, and as a result, actually remembering stuff after the tour. The most beautiful thing about storytelling is how I can transport people back in time and help them get immersed in the greatest adventure of the medieval times.
